The government, which anticipates that the number of tourists will increase during these four days, is also working around themes such as ‘Love Goa’ and ‘Celebrate with Goa.’
Sources said this year too the Tourism Department is aiming to ensure that the Carnival gives tourists the flavour of traditional Goa by prominently roping in brass bands, flaunting colourful décor, Carnival caricatures and cultural performances.
The name of King Momo for this year will be announced by the department shortly.
This will coincide with annual Food and Cultural Festival scheduled from February 13 to 17 that will showcase traditional Goan cuisine alongside modern cuisine in the State. Cultural programmes, music, dance performances, Goan folklore and culture will be prominently showcased during the fest.
