PANJIM: Close to a thousand youth gathered near Goa Reserve Camp, Altinho in the scorching heat to avail applications of various posts advertised by Goa Police on Tuesday.
With overwhelming response to 1,097 posts advertised last weekend, the department has allotted eight places where forms will be made available for the applicants.

A press statement issued by Superintendent of Police Mahesh Gaonkar informs that forms will be made available at Administrative Block, GRP Camp, Altinho; Mapusa Police Station, Bicholim PS, Margao PS, Quepem PS, Vasco PS, Ponda PS and Police Training School, Valpoi. The forms at PS will be under supervision of SDPO Ponda.
“It has been decided to make the required application forms available at following (above mentioned) places for convenience of the candidates. Application forms can be collected between 10 am and 5pm on all working days. Rest of the criteria remains same,” reads the statement issued on Tuesday evening.
Several youth turned up near the GRP to get the forms on Tuesday. Long queues were formed since early morning and dispersed only after the closing hours.
The department has advertised vacancies for Police Sub-Inspector, Police Constables, Searcher, Assistant Sub Inspectors (Wireless Operator), Photographer, Laboratory technician, Police Constable (Bandman) (male), Police Constable (mask luskar) (male, Police Constables (Wireless Messenger), Stenographer and Lower Division Clerk.
