Vasco: Many people from Vasco attended the carnival parade held in Vasco Monday evening. One of the special attractions was the Indian Navy float, which was aimed at highlighting the recent relief and rescue operations carried out by them last year.
The Chief Guests of this event were Flag Officer Goa Naval area (FOGA) Rear Admiral Philipose G Pynumootil and MPT chairman Dr E Ramesh Kumar, who flagged off the carnival parade.
The floats led by King Momo Shalom Sardinha and Queen Jocelyn Godinho along with live music kept the hundreds of Vascokars who had come to attend the parade in a festive mood. There were several other floats gave social messages to onlookers while others depicted Goan culture. Sources stated that there were 55 floats in various categories including 8 traditional, 21 clown and jokers 21, 5 junk cars , 13 clubs 13, family and 8 sponsors.
