In a tragic incident, a three-and-a-half-year-old girl, who was rescued from a 35-foot deep well at Karaswada, Mapusa, died on the way to the hospital, Monday evening. The incident occurred at 7:45 pm when Zoya Ahmed was playing with her friends. Fire personnel said that she climbed over the well, which was covered with a wire mesh to obtain her ball, but fell through a small opening in the cover.
The child was rescued in the second attempt and a doctor was called on-site to administer first aid to the child, but tragically, she was declared brought dead by hospital authorities.
