Three arrested for murdering Jharkhand native in Collem under the influence of alcohol

Collem police have apprehended three persons in connection with the murder of a 38-year-old Jharkhand native, Philip Kispotta. The incident occurred in Collem, where Kispotta, a labourer, was found deceased near the railway track on October 27.

The arrested suspects are identified as Ramesh Doddamani, 40 years old, hailing from Hukkeri, Karnataka; Shivam Ram Bahadur, 22 years old, from Raibarely; and Chandrakant Bhagyavant, 56 years old, from Satara, Maharashtra.

Initially presumed to be a non-suspicious incident, the police later altered the case to that of murder after reevaluation. Kispotta’s unclothed body was found behind the railway station in Collem, prompting authorities to suspect foul play. A thorough investigation was initiated, involving the deployment of a police dog squad and forensic experts to gather evidence.

The Collem police conducted an examination of the scene and transferred the body to the Goa Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.
