PONDA: Ponda Police arrested three persons for theft of tyres of a bus parked at Kasayale Tisk in Usgao and also seized the tempo hired by them for transporting the stolen articles.
According to Ponda Police, ACGL at Honda had built a six-wheeler bus for its Maharashtra based customer. The company on Saturday handed over the responsibility of transporting this bus to Maharashtra to Usgao based driver Sharmad Ali. As Sharmad was to drive this bus to Maharashtra, he parked the bus near his residence at Kasayale Tisk Usgao on Saturday evening and decided to begin his journey on Sunday morning.
As decided, he woke up early morning, but to shock all the six tyres of bus were stolen by some unknown persons on Saturday night. He reported the incident to the Ponda police. During the investigation, police luckily got the CCTV footage of roadside residence. With the help of the CCTV footage, police detected that a tempo was involved in transportation of tyres, which they seized the tempo at Usgao and arrested three accused, while one is absconding.
The value of stolen tyres is worth Rs 1 lakh.
The arrested accused are Allison Pikardo (26) from OPA Khandepar, Ashok D Gaonkar (39) from Sancorda, and Basappa Hirekurbe (39) from Tisk in Usgao.
