VASCO: Harbour Coastal Security police personnel on Friday night booked three boatmen for loading their passenger boat beyond the permitted number of passengers, putting their lives at risk.
Ravindranath Dhuri of the Harbour Coastal security PS said that water sports boat ‘Shree Renuka’ was seen in a precarious condition off Bat Island, Baina, ferrying 60 passengers, instead of the permitted limit of 40 passengers, on Friday afternoon.
Prakash Rathod, Kushal Mudlapur and Pramesh Lamani, all three in their twenties, and natives of Karnataka, were booked for the offence.
