PANJIM: Goa on Tuesday registered three COVID-19 deaths along with 174 new positive cases. There were 88 patients who recovered or were cured, the Directorate of Health said in its daily bulletin.
Of the three deaths, one died in the COVID hospital, while the two other died before testing.
A 65-year-old male from Gogol-Margao, admitted at the ESI COVID hospital, Margao with co-morbid conditions expired. Another patient, a woman from Birla Zuarinagar, expired while being shifted from GMC to the COVID hospital. Earlier in the night, another male, 51 years from Khorlim-Mapusa, was brought dead, and found to be positive in the postmortem.
The State on Tuesday also crossed the 4000-mark in confirmed positive cases reaching 4027. The active cases are now 1552 and recoveries are 2449. The figure of deaths has reached 26.
Sources revealed that though Goa has 2446 recoveries there are just 11 patients who have come forward to donate plasma for treatment of other patients.
“It gives me immense pleasure to inform that as of today, we have received 11 COVID recovered patients who volunteered to donate their convalescent plasma. Our plasma donation appeal is slowly pacing forward,” Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said.
“I would like to reiterate and appeal to all the patients who have recovered 28 days ago, that it is your time to be a corona warrior. Be wise and donate plasma,” he said.
As on date, the State has conducted 1,11,296 tests with 1,07,486 reports received.
