MAPUSA: Anjuna police on Wednesday arrested three persons Durgadas @Durga Morajkar (34), Shivesh @Pollard Divkar (24) and Vinay @ Milkha Divkar, (25) all residents of Arpora in the assault case of Canca-based businessman Roy Fernandes and two others.
It may be recalled that on June 13 businessman Roy Fernandes had lodged a complaint that he was attacked twice; first time at around 4.50 pm at Anjuna and thereafter at around 5 pm near Krishna Temple, Verla Canca by Rohan Harmalkar resident of Divar along with four other unknown persons. In his complaint Roy mentioned that the attackers’ common intention was to assault his staff Agni Ahmed with a knuckle duster on his nose. He said Harmalkar’s group later abducted him (Ahmed) and put him in white colour Boleno Car and took him to Verla Canca.
The alleged accused further restrained Roy and his manager Emmanuel D’Souza while they were proceeding to Anjuna from Verla Canca in their four-wheeler and assaulted Roy with wooden danda and a metal pipe causing him injuries on his leg and head.
Roy also said that the group threatened him with dire consequences.
Anjuna police had registered an offence under Section 326, 341, 365, 506(i) R/w 34 IPC.
