MAPUSA: The Mapusa police have arrested three persons for
kidnapping a minor girl.
On Thursday evening, the father of the minor girl approached
the Mapusa police and lodged his complaint stating that his 16-year-old
daughter was missing from his residence, SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi stated.
The accused have been identified as Aaron Percy Moniz, 24,
resident of Molewada, Assonora, Ayush Arun Mandrekar, resident of Belavista
Vaddo, Sirsaim and Narendra alias Badal Singh, resident of Chicalim, Colvale
Bardez.
Acting on the complaint, Mapusa police registered an offence
under Section 363 IPC and Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act.
The police team got information that the victim was kept at
Assonora. Accordingly the police raided
the house and rescued the victim girl and arrested the three accused in a
rescue operation on late Thursday night.
During the course of investigation, it was revealed that the
victim through social media came in contact with one of the accused Narendra
alias Badal Singh who visited the house of the complainant on Thursday and
lured her away. The accused further contacted his friends Ayush Mandrekar and
Aaron Moniz and took the victim girl to Assonora at the residence of accused
Aaron.
The accused were produced before the JMFC Mapusa and granted
three days police custody. The victim girl is presently admitted to Apna Ghar,
Merces. Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of PI
Sitakant Nayak, SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi and SP North Nidhin Valsan, IPS.
