MARGAO: A multi-vehicular
accident occurred at Dramapur, Salcete, on Thursday, involving one car, two
bikes and a mini goods tempo. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported, but
three people sustained injuries.
On Thursday morning, a
multi-vehicular accident at the Dramapur intersection. The extent to which the
vehicles were damaged shook the locals and commuters. According to the car driver, Abdul Karim, the
woman rider was the main reason for the accident as the woman without looking at
the traffic around, crossed the road with her two-wheeler, causing a
multi-vehicular accident. Recounting the harrowing incident, Karim said, “The woman
rider, suddenly crossed the road. She swerved directly without looking on
either the left or the right side of the road before crossing. When I realized
the situation, I tried my best to avoid the collision. But still, she collided
with my car and also with the tempo.”
Karim sustained a minor
injury on his hand, whereas his wife lost consciousness and was taken for
medical treatment. Other victims were also shifted to the medical centre for
treatment. Immediately police were called to conduct the panchanama. Police arrived at the accident scene and
began conducting their investigation. Traffic was blocked for a while but later
cleared by the police.
