MARGAO: There seems to be no let up in the malaria situation in Seraulim on the outskirts of Margao.
Around three cases of malaria were detected by the Margao Urban Health Centre on Saturday, even as the Health Centre had detected another malaria case from the same village on Friday.
A week ago, the Cansaulim Primary Health Centre, which has jurisdiction over Seraulim village, had detected two malaria cases from the village.
Seraulim villagers had been up in arms over two garbage dumps in the village, attributing the malaria cases to the presence of the waste dumps.
Activist Rodney Almeida said the Health Centre report has stated that the village reported around 29 cases of malaria and three deaths. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar recently visited the village.
