Three pedestrians knocked down at Bethora, injured

PONDA: Three female pedestrians were injured at Bethora after an Omni Van driver lost control over his vehicle and knocked them down on Friday morning. 
According to the police, the women were walking along the roadside near MacDowell factory when they were hit by the Omni van.
Following the accident, the driver fled from the spot. Annoyed at this, the locals protested at accident spot almost for four hour. 
The locals objected to police removing the car from the accident spot till the driver was arrested. Following this, more police were rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.
The victims were identified as Rajani Ladu Gaude (24), Mohini Mohan Gaude, and Hema Yashwant Gaude (21), all from Bethora. 
They were taken to Sub District Hospital at Ponda. Later, police arrested Omni van driver Pankaj Ramkumar from Bihar and booked a case against him.
