PANJIM: Three rape cases were reported at the police stations in North Goa district and two accused have been arrested during the last week.
The first alleged rape case was reported at the women’s police station against Lezio Fernandes, 32 from Agonda, Canacona and currently residing at Murida-Fatorda.
The victim in her complaint stated that the accused on the pretext of marriage, allegedly sexually assaulted her on several occasions and also threatened to post hernude pictures on social networking sites.
Fernandes has now filed for anticipatory bail before the District and Sessions Court.
In another case, the police arrested a 39-year-old man from Davorlim on charge of raping a 26-year-old woman.
Police stated that the accused Allahasaheb Subedar Mulla alias Vicky, allegedly had sexual intercourse with the complainant on several occasions under the pretext of marriage.
Later, the accused forcibly took the complainant to a private hospital and made her terminate the pregnancy during the fifth month without her consent.
Police investigations have revealed that the accused was married, has two wives and five children.
The third case has been reported at the Mapusa police station against Prakash Kumar, a native of Bihar for allegedly raping a four-year-old minor.
