The raid was conducted under the supervision of SP Crime Branch Karthik Kashyap following a complaint by the victims. The victims – natives of Nippani, Karnataka – alleged that they had been forced into prostitution.
“We had received a complaint from the victims that they are been forcefully exploited in the massage parlour. We conducted the raid accordingly and arrested seven customers and two lady managers,” said SP Kashyap.
He also stated that the main accused was an Uttar Pradesh native, Imran, who had been arrested by the police twice under the ITP act. Imran was nabbed once more after a short hunt.
A case has been registered against the arrested under section 370 of IPC and section 3, 4, 5 and 7 of the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act. Those arrested include: Kashib Aftab, Mahesh Sadashiv Muchandi, Sunil Bhalor, Rejendra Baburao Patil, Mantesh Chandrashekhar Hirekundi, Shamshuddin Amhmed, Seiferd Sequira, Imran Khan, Ajay Rajesh Parmar (17), Mohan Kholkar, Mumtaj Shaikh and Safura Banu Shaikh.
