MARGAO: Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai on Monday provided compensation to the owners of three passenger rickshaws, which were burnt by a miscreant, on Saturday.
The compensation was provided on the compassionate grounds under the banner of “We For Fatorda”.
On the occasion, Vijai criticised the local BJP committee for having a photo-op during the pandemic.
He said, “Apart from exploiting calamities of our fellow Goemkars for photo-ops and political posturing, the government will do nothing to help them. That’s why we’ve reached out to three “Fatordekars” who have lost their rickshaws, and their livelihood, to arson a criminal act.”
Three yellow black rickshaws owned by Mungul residents were set on fire by a miscreant, on Saturday. The culprit was later arrested by Fatorda Police.
