MARGAO: The three Trial Courts which been shifted to the District and Sessions Court Building and have been functioning smoothly since Monday.
The need to shift the courts arose as the South Goa Advocates Association protested against the dilapidated condition of the heritage premises of the Civil and Criminal Court Building (Trial Court) premises which was leaking and water keep pouring in rendering the building unsafe for everyone who entered here.
Since, there was no adequate parking space available around the court premises, the South Goa Advocates Association President Adv Prasad Naik made a representation to the Margao Traffic Cell requesting that cops be deputed at the parking slot of the District and Sessions Court Building, Margao inorder to manage traffic. PI of the Traffic Cell immediately heeded to the requested and deputed cops to manage the flow of traffic on Monday morning.
Since there were no parking issues reported yesterday, some lawyers opined that traffic police should be kept on a regular basis to see that no inconvenience is caused to the lawyers and litigants entering the court building .
