PANJIM: Light and moderate thunderstorms, such as occurred on Tuesday, are likely to continue for the rest of the week until Saturday.
This was forecast by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa, which also spoke of the heavy rainfall on Tuesday. “Thunderstorm clouds are present over the talukas of Quepem, Canacona and Sanguem. Clouds are moving in the westward direction,” IMD said, regarding the weather conditions of Tuesday. IMD added that there were winds of speed gusting to around 40 kms per hour on Tuesday that are likely to continue on Wednesday.
IMD Goa added that light to moderate rainfall is expected throughout the week as well until Saturday. It also warned of there being haze/light fog in the morning at scattered places in the State until November 20.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea until November 18 and were informed that squally weather with wind speeds reaching 40-50 km/hr gusting to 60 km/hr are likely to prevail along and off the Goa coast.
