The left bank canal of the Tillari canal collapsed on Wednesday and there will be no water to 80 per cent of Pernem for the next three days. PWD executive engineer Nitin Neurenkar told Herald that the Chandel water treatment plant will be shut for repairs and will resume only after the water level in the river recedes.
“There will be restricted water on Thursday but Friday and Saturday there will be no supply,” he said. He said the areas affected will be Dhargal, Casarvanem, Pernem, Mandrem, Tuem etc.
