PONDA: Ponda Police on Tuesday arrested a resident of Tisk-Usgao on charges of assaulting a postman on duty.
According to Ponda PI Shidhant Shirodkar, accused Ballapa Desai from Cuncolim, but residing at Tisk, allegedly assaulted the postman, Rupesh Kudalkar, attached to Ponda post office, when the postman had gone to deliver mail at Dessai’s residence.
“The accused questioned the postman about a parcel he was to receive by post and in a fit of anger, assaulted the postman,” said police.
Police have registered an offence under Sections 332 and 353 IPC against the accused.
