PONDA: The work to restore the 900 mm dia main Water supply pipeline to Tiswadi Taluka which was damaged on August 15 was in full swing with 11 expert welders arriving from outside the State.
The Officials hope to complete the work of connecting the 900 dia pipeline by Monday night and release the water supply by Tuesday evening.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar visited the site to inspect the work on Tuesday morning. Officials are monitoring the work round the clock.
A plastic cover was placed over the restoration site after heavy rains at 2pm.
Several Welders were engaged in connecting the pipe and joint elbows in the evening. Officials said they will most probably complete the work on laying the 900 dia pipeline first by working the full night and later begin restoring of the 750 dia pipeline.
The officials said by Tuesday they are hopeful of releasing the water from 900 mm dia to Tiswadi Taluka which is the worst affected.
