PONDA: In a tragic incident, 36-year-old Yatin Warang, a resident of Tivrem died on the spot in a collision with a truck at Manaswada, Kundaim Junction on Thursday.
According to Police, the accident took place at around 8.45 pm when Warang was proceeding from Marcel to Kundaim to purchase fish. When he reached the Kundaim junction, he moved the car towards the left to proceed to Manaswada. In doing so, a speeding truck driver tried to apply brakes and skidded and rammed into the car. The impact was such that Warang died on spot.
According to locals, the junction is prone to accidents. When the crane was pressed into service to remove the car, to everyone’s surprise, a cow was found alive under the truck.
