PANJIM: Goa Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) on Saturday slammed the pre-poll alliance between the Congress and the Goa Forward Party (GFP).
Goa TMC in a press release stated that in the 2017 elections, Congress had emerged as the single largest party with 17 seats but could not form the government because of Vijai Sardesai led GFP’s betrayal that the BJP was able to form the government.
Goa TMC wants to remind the people of the betrayal by this “unholy alliance” and wants to warn Goans against this partnership which disrespected their mandate back then and is likely to take their vote for granted yet again,” it said.
The TMC highlighted how the Congress put politics above people and despite taking a vow back in 2017 never to form an alliance with GFP has now conveniently partnered with a “traitor”, whose credibility is highly questionable.
In a political landscape where Congress is suffering from lack of leadership, and the people are fed up of the BJP’s misrule, Goa TMC is the only stable, secure and reliable alternative for a government which will work for the people, it said.
