TMC takes a dig at CM for failing deadline to make Goa pothole-free

PANJIM: The Goa Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday slammed Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for failing on yet another promise of making Goa pothole-free by November 1.

While addressing media persons in Panjim, Goa TMC leaders displayed pictures of potholes collected from all the 40 constituencies in the State to dismantle the government’s narrative about development and to prove that the BJP-led government had yet again betrayed the people with their fake promises.

The Goa TMC leadership including Dr Jorson Fernandes, Priya Rathod and Jayesh Shetgaonkar took on the ruling BJP government for the deteriorating infrastructure and the horrible condition of roads that were the root cause of multiple deaths owing to road accidents.

“‘Goa CM could not keep the promise because it was not an achievable goal. Have you looked around you? The problem is everywhere and it is so serious!” said Fernandes.

He also slammed the Government for the drama of sprucing up a certain portion of the road in Taleigao and Panjim just ahead of Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Goa recently.

“Many citizens are repairing bad roads with their own money. Videos of people filling potholes are going viral on social media. What a shame that people are being forced to do what is the government’s job,” said Rathod.

Shetgaonkar then took a dig at Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who claimed that all the development work done in the State was a ‘trailer’ and the ‘real picture’ was yet to be seen.
