KOLKATA: While it is Didi, Mamata Banerjee who is the face, inspiration and strength of the TMC, it is her understudy, Abhishekh Banerjee who has emerged as the on-ground executioner of her directions and strategy. Banerjee declared clearly that TMC will have no pre-poll alliance with any party for the Goa Assembly polls.
While this is unspoken, the 33-year-old General Secretary and MP, discussed the initial organisation building and poll strategy with Luizinho Faleiro on Tuesday. On Wednesday he spoke to him on the sidelines of the mega-post joining press conference which Banerjee attended briefly. Here he made perhaps the most significant political announcement of the party. Putting all speculation regarding TMC’s alliance in Goa with other parties to rest on Wednesday, Banerjee said, “Trinamool Congress will fight the upcoming Goa Assembly election all alone. I hope that puts all speculations to rest.”
