PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has stated that he does not think that the entry of the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) will have an effect on BJP’s prospects for the forthcoming Assembly elections.

“The (State Assembly) elections are on their way and so everyone will be campaigning. I don’t want to give any comment about the others who are campaigning here but I can definitely say this much, that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will once again form the government in Goa,” Sawant said in response to media queries on the political developments.

Asked specifically if he thinks TMC will have any impact on BJP’s plans in Goa, he said, “I do not think so.” He reiterated that BJP would comfortably win a majority.
