PANJIM: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) is likely to change its candidate for Fatorda seat as former Chief Minister and MP Luizinho Faleiro has declined to contest Assembly election. Seoula Vas is likely to be the TMC candidate for Fatorda seat.
The Goa Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) on Thursday declared its fourth list of two candidates.
The party fielded former MLA Victor Gonsalves from St Cruz and Mahesh Bhandari from Dabolim constituency.
With this the TMC has announced names of 26 candidates and there are reports that the party may contest the Panjim seat. Earlier, the TMC was thinkling of extending support to Utpal Parrikar, son of former Chief Minister late Manohar Parrikar, contesting as an independent candidate.
Meanwhile, Faleiro said that rumours of his resignation from the AITC were false, mischievous and malicious.
In a tweet Faleiro said, “This is propaganda being spread by those rattled by the support and blessings that the people of Goa have showered on my party. Goa TMC is the only party that will fight for Goa and emerge victorious!”
