TN native rescued from Loliem well

CANACONA, MAR CH2 A 35-year-old Tamil Nadu native was rescued after accidentally falling into a 70-feet well at Loliem-Canacona on Monday evening.

A 35-year-old Tamil Nadu native was rescued after accidentally falling into a 70-feet well at Loliem-Canacona on Monday evening.
According to sources, one Satya Prakash accidentally fell into the well at Timblo Farm at Maditollop in Loliem.
Some people who reportedly noticed the incident tried in vain to take the man out from the well, before informing fire personnel at Canacona.
By the time the fire brigade personnel reached Loliem, Prakash collapsed due to insufficient oxygen in the well.
Fire personnel struggled to rescue the unconscious man out of the well, as their ladder could not reach the base of the well.
With the help of a rope, four fire personnel descended and tied the unconscious man to a rope and lifted him.
Prakash was shifted to Hospicio Hospital in Margao, where his condition is reported to be critical.
However, it is not known how he fell in the well, as only a bucket and a rope were found near the well, informed a source.
Fire Service Constable Anandu K Velip, driver and operator J J Rodrigues, firemen R S Gaonkar, P M Velip, R P Velip and N R Satarkar took part in the rescue operation under the guidance of Canacona Sub Officer K D Sail.
