MARGAO: In an interesting development, Margao Municipal Chairperson Gonzaco Rebello will appear before the Municipal chief officer for a hearing on June 25 in connection with a petition seeking his disqualification over an alleged illegal construction in a road widening area.
The name of Gonzaco has been listed as a respondent in the case after the builder has washed his hands off in the matter. A resident of Madel had filed a petition against the chairperson a couple of months ago seeking his disqualification alleging his hand in the illegality.
Gonzaco has firmly denied that he has constructed any structure in a road widening area as alleged in the petition.
