Having an iPhone today is like having a quality device but since the demise of Steve Jobs, everything has changed.The
iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus was released on September 9, 2014. The iPhone 6 is perhaps the most eagerly anticipated
smartphone of this year and in just a few short days you’ll be able to buy one, but should you? There is no doubt that it is a great handset
but for better or worse it is also a big change over the iPhone 5s. Summing up all the leaks and rumours in the run up to its
announcement, the iPhone 6 is a gadget of few surprises and one of the biggest changes is the size of the screen which is the same size as the original HTC One or the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. With respect to money, 4 inches was starting to look distinctly small and it is about time Apple caught up. But those who liked the phone’s compact design, may not appreciate this change. The iPhone 6 Plus is 5.5 inches which is just not making it really pocket-able and handy to carry around if you have always been an Apple user.
Saying all the above, I feel that
Apple could have done more. While
Apple may have slightly dropped on
the resolution, its Retina HD display
is about more than just packing in
the pixels. It also delivers superior
contrast and viewing angles to
any previous iPhone and even has
better colour reproduction and an
improved polariser so that it is easier
to see when wearing sunglasses.
If there is one thing Apple
always gets right it is the design
and the iPhone 6 is one of the
company’s best looking products
up till date. With a glass and metal
build it was always going to look
premium but Apple has not simply
used expensive materials but has
also thought about the construction
and usability and user experience.
It is never easy to directly
compare the power of an iPhone
to anything else because on
hard paper the specifications do
not match up so it would be all
considered in magic.
Being a user of an iPhone, I
would say that this time they have
just let a lot of fans, users and wellwishers
down with the features and
the interference on the live stream
channel with some other language
really got things wacky. Apart from
all the bad, there is always good.
Appreciating, I would say that the
iPhone 6 feels as slick and smooth
as a metal plate in the hand.
I could not help but fell a little
disappointed when I heard that
Apple once again put an 8 megapixel
camera in the device, but this is not
the same 8 megapixel camera which
was decked in the iPhone 5S. Focus
Pixels allow it to autofocus faster
than ever with a highly improved face
detection, control over exposure,
digital image stabilisation to counter
motion blur and improved photo
apps to let you quickly edit images
on-the-go.
The iPhone 6 is light on new
features which do not directly tie into
something else such as the camera
or the screen. The main new feature
is Apple Pay which uses NFC to allow
you to make contactless payments
with other users. This feature has got
the potential to be a hugely useful
and with Apple backing contactless
payments might become a lot more
common than they are now.
The iPhone 6 comes with
a choice of 16, 64 or 128GB of
storage with 32GB MIA for some
reason so there is good potential
for a lot but there is no expandable
memory storage.
The iPhone 6 is a device which
has almost everything you could
want all delivered in a stunning new
design and with flagship power. It is
expensive as always because of the
quality, design and security. Now, the
ball is in your court, whether to buy
or not to….
