MARGAO: Maina-Curtorim Police on Wednesday released on bail Sanju Gouder, and Dinesh Godbole, both workers arrested in connection with a case of storing illegal tobacco products and variety of pan masala worth Rs 24 lakh.
Police said a case registered under 87 (f) of Goa Daman and Diu Public Health Act 1985 and Goa Public Health Act (Amendment ) 2005 read with 34 IPC against the two was bailable.
Owner of premises, Vaman Falari, in whose property the contraband was seized, will be arrested under relevant Section.
“We will send him a call letter,” said the police.
Illegally stored contraband tobacco products containing 11 bags and 65 bags of pan masala of different brands were seized from the vehicle parked in the premises owned by Vaman Falari for the purpose of distribution to the shopkeepers, which is injurious to the public health.
