Toll booth loss to be recovered from Nitesh

PANJIM: The government has stated that it will recover the loss of around Rs 11 lakh caused at the Dhargal toll booth from Nitesh Rane, son of Maharashtra Industries Minister Narayan Rane and the perpetrators of the vandalism there.

PANJIM: The government has stated that it will recover the loss of around Rs 11 lakh caused at the Dhargal toll booth from Nitesh Rane, son of Maharashtra Industries Minister Narayan Rane and the perpetrators of the vandalism there.
“Our people have complained. The loss will be recovered. It is around Rs 11 lakh. They completely destroyed the booth”, PWD minister, Ramkrishna Sudin Dhavalikar told media. 
The toll booth at Dhargal border was smashed and the staff assaulted when a convoy of Rane and his supporters were stopped and asked to pay toll. Three operators were also beaten up.
Nitesh along with eight others was arrested by police and later released on bail.
After his arrest there was vandalism in parts of Maharashtra where some buses plying to Goa were stoned and a board of Goa Bhavan, Mumbai was damaged allegedly by an NGO of the Rane family.
“The staff assaulted were appointed by the government,” the minister said when asked if they were civil servants on duty at the time of the assault.
