MARGAO: Tony Dias reacting sharply to the complaint lodged against him by former Margao Municipal Council chairperson Gonzago Rebello said he was not at all involved in the fracas that took place at Mungul where the locals had questioned Gonzago why he was constructing the septic tank and soak pit.
While admitting that his wife Filipina was one of the signatory to the complaint lodged against the illegal construction of septic tank that the locals made to the MMC following which there was an inspection wherein the municipal engineer asked the former chairperson to stop his work.
However, as he started the work half an hour later, some women went to question him during which time he took a danda and assaulted Filipina who has injuries on her left leg and when she pushed Gonzango to stop the assault, he fell down and probably his phone broke at that time.
Subsequently, Filipina was taken to Hospicio for a checkup following which a complaint was lodged with the police.
Police sources revealed that a case is registered against Gonzango Rebello for causing hurt by dangerous weapons, insulting with intention to provoke breach of peace and also mischief under Sections 324, 504,506 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code.
