MARGAO: As the elections are hardly seven days away, and the campaigning is at peak hours it appears that many voters are still in a confused state to decide upon their candidate.

Herald on Sunday met several voters in order to find out if they have made up their mind to choose the candidate or not, and it was revealed that many are still undecided to finalise.

It was also revealed that the prevailing situations in the political arena, besides too many candidates, have created a huge question mark amongst the voters to opt the best from the all.

There are 301 candidates for the 40 assembly seats in Goa. Apart from BJP, Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC), Goa Forward Party (GFP), Maharashtra Gomantak Party (MGP), new entrants have also put up their candidates.

Speaking to Herald Armando Fernandes said t

“The recent political developments have made me confused. I can see the new faces amongst the long list of candidates, but do not see capability of doing anything better for the constituency. I was looking to a leader who is sensitive towards the issues pertaining to the people.”

According to Floriano Barretto from Salcete, pressing the bottom of NOTA doesn’t make any sense. It is equal to not voting.

“I am very much confused about deciding upon the candidate. I have lost all the faith. The assurances and the promises by the candidates seem to be just to fool the people, and nothing else,” said Floriano.

Agreeing the same Deepali Gaonkar, a young lady from Quepem taluka is yet to decide upon whom to vote.

“It is not only me who is waiting to finalize the candidate to vote, but all the other members of my family too, said Gaonkar.
