PERNEM: The Torxem village panchayat in a letter submitted to the deputy collector Pernem has requested to construct scientifically designed speed breakers at accident prone zones in the village to improve safety conditions.
The sarpanch stated that the panchayat has passed a resolution no 4(1) at fortnightly meeting dated January 18, 2023 for fixing of speed breakers and painting of existing speed breakers at nine different locations including accident prone zones near the schools located in the village jurisdiction.
They include construction of speed breakers near the government primary schools at Parabwada, Fakirpatto, Sakral, Patradevi and near the Sai Vidhya Mandir High School, Sakral.
Other spots which the panchayat has identified are at Naikwada, Dhusagi, Langarbag, Patradevi, Kumyachiholle, Shetyewada and Torxem.
