Tough battle on the cards in Usgao-Ganjem

PONDA: A tough battle is on the cards for the Usgao ZP seat between MGP-supported Bharat Naik, Valpoi MLA Vishwajeet Rane’s candidate Dyaneshwar Naik and two independent candidates.

PONDA: A tough battle is on the cards for the Usgao ZP seat between MGP-supported Bharat Naik, Valpoi MLA Vishwajeet Rane’s candidate Dyaneshwar Naik and two independent candidates.
The Usgao-Ganjem ZP constituency, which is in a mining belt, has witnessed intense campaigning so far.
PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has been involved in door-to-door visits and several corner meetings in support of the MGP-BJP alliance candidate Bharat Naik, while Vishwajeet Rane has also campaigned for his candidate.
The two other independent candidates are also posing a strong challenge and people are anxiously waiting to see the winner as there is a division of votes among the four candidates.
The independent candidates campaigned with almost 300-400 campaigners which also included majority of women.
Dyaneshwar Naik, supported by Vishwajeet Rane, campaigned with thousands of campaigners, while Rane also addressed two meetings at Usgao and in both the meetings over 1,000 people attended. 
For the ZP election, Usgao Panchayat falls in Ponda taluka, while for Assembly election, it comes in Valpoi constituency.
