PORVORIM: The State Tourism Board has accorded permission to organise the Electronic Dance Music Festival (EDM) – Sunburn – at Vagator in the last week of December, this year, informed Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte.
He said that the permission was granted during the meeting held on July 6. The event will be held from December 28-30.
In a written reply, Khaunte said that the Tourism Department had received an application from one Parag Uke from Vasai- Maharashtra, to organise the Electronic Dance Music Festival by name “Sunburn Festival” from December 28-30 in Anjuna, Bardez.
Congress MLA Delilah Lobo had tabled the question.
In reply to another question tabled by Congress MLA Sankalp Amonkar, the Minister said that government has collected a revenue of over Rs 5.50 crore from the Sunburn organisers since 2012.
No events were organised from 2016 to 2018, and again in 2020
and 2021.
