PANJIM: King Momo for this year’s Carnival floats parade will be selected by the Department of Tourism on Tuesday evening.
In all, seven persons have submitted their applications to be the King Momo. However, the Tourism Department sources said that only six applications will be considered as the seventh applicant was selected as King Momo in the past and won’t be considered due to three-year cooling period.
A meeting of the officials of Tourism Department, the Corporation of The City of Panaji Commissioner and chief officers of Margao, Mormugao and Mapusa have been convened at the board room of Tourism Department at 4 pm, on Tuesday. The selected King Momo accompanied by a queen will rein his mock rule in the State for four-day Carnival festival.
The Carnival floats parade will be held in four major cities of Panjim, Margao, Vasco and Mapusa from February 26 to March 1.
