MARGAO: Upon the request of the Goa Civic and Consumer Action Network (GOACAN), the Department of Tourism agreed to provide translation of the draft Jetty Policy 2022 in official language; Konkani, besides Marathi.
Ganesh R Teli, Deputy Director (planning) for Department of Tourism in the reply to GOACAN also informed that the translated document shall be uploaded on the official website of the Department for Information.
It may be recalled that recently, GOACAN has called for the translation of Draft Jetty Policy 2022 into the official language and had sought an extension of time so that there may be good public participation and effective feedback from all stakeholders and a cross-section of consumers in the State.
“The time period for submitting objections/comments/suggestions on the draft Jetty Policy 2022 has been extended till October 15 and a public notice to this effect has also been published for information to the public”, stated Teli.
Roland Martins, Co-ordinator, GOACAN welcomed the above decision and said to give feedback it is important to read and understand the document.
GOACAN earlier pointed out that many civil society members and elected representatives were in support of the view that the Jetty Policy 2022 must be available in the official language of the State.
