Panjim: Taking cognisance of a Herald photo highlighting the nuisance created by domestic tourists by taking a selfie with bikini-clad foreign tourist on a beach, the Department of Tourism has come out with a general advisory to prevent such incidents from repeating in future in order to protect the privacy of tourists.

On January 24, Herald had published a photograph which showed a domestic tourist taking photo with a foreign tourist with his hand around her waist. The Tourism Department took cognisance of the photograph and has issued advisory to tourists. The advisory says, “Do not take selfies and photographs, without permission of other tourists/strangers, especially while sunbathing or sea swimming, so as to respect their privacy.”
The advisory was issued in January 27, soon after the photo was published.
