MARGAO: Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco on Saturday complemented Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo for decrying vehemently against the Tourism Master Plan 2018 and Tourism Policy 2018 prepared by Bangalore based M/s KPMG Advisory Services.
Reginaldo said that the policy is haphazard and anti-Goenkars too.
In a letter to the Chief Minister and Tourism Minister, Reginaldo reminded of having highlighted the work done by the aforesaid consultancy was not only haphazard but it is also anti-Goenkars.
“I had requested both the Chief Minister and Tourism Minister to get the consultant KPMG to re-draft the policy after conducting a detailed and proper survey and then placing the report before all the stakeholders including gram sabhas of all the village panchayats, all municipal bodies, political representatives, civil society activists, indigenous and rural communities, etc in all the talukas and then only the modified draft should be resent to all the 40 MLAs for the next proper discussion on the above subject for better tourism attracting quality tourists from overseas and India which lead to the development of the State by increasing its per capita income,” he reminded.
