MARGAO: Following directions from the Chief Minister and Tourism Minister on Thursday morning, the South Goa District Collector Jyoti Kumar on Friday held a review meeting to take stock of the measures being taken for the convenience and safety of tourists arriving at the Mormugao Port’s Cruise terminal.
South Goa Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhishek Dhania, Mormugao DySp Salim Shaikh, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar, the Mormugao Deputy Collector and other stakeholders were present for this meeting at the District Collectorate.
The officials discussed the implementation of a queue system for taxis, the presence of an RTO officer at this counter and providing a distress helpline number for tourists, which would be manned by the police. Another measure is the mandatory sharing of all relevant information by the MPA Cruise Manager about the arrival of the cruise and the subsequent movement of its passengers with local enforcement authorities.
