Tourist injured in hit-n-run off Calangute beach

CALANGUTE, OCT 19
A 25-year-old tourist from Hiamchal Pradesh was injured, after he was accidentally hit by a water sports boat at Calangute on Tuesday.
According to Drishti reports, Ashish Dev and eight others from Himachal Pradesh were swimming in a water sports zone at Calangute. However, despite warnings by Drishti lifeguards, the group continued swimming in the dangerous water sports zone.
While swimming, Dev was accidentally hit by a water sports boat’s outboard motor and received severe incisions on the thigh and elbow joint.
Sources further informed that Dev was bleeding profusely when brought to the tower and was immediately administered first aid.
As the bleeding continued, the Drishti Team rushed Dev to Primary Health Centre, Candolim for further treatment. The Drishti Surf Life team however could not identify the exact boat, which hit Dev. He was rescued by Dristhi lifeguards Dinanath Halankar and Amit Shinde.
