Tourist rescued

CANDOLIM: Dhrishti Lifesavers on Monday rescued a tourist from Maharashtra from drowning at Candolim beach.

According to sources, the incident occurred at around 16:10 hrs wherein a 21-year youth ventured into the red-flagged no-swim zone. Experiencing a sudden change in the water levels, the victim found himself caught in danger. As he tried to return to the shore, he was unable to swim and cried for help. Drishti lifesaver Sushant Gaonkar rushed to his aid and secured him with a rescue tube.

The victim was brought back safely and a medical checkup was conducted where he was found to be out of danger.
