Tourist security force constituted

Acting on the guidelines issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Tourism, New Delhi Department of Tourism, Government of Goa has constituted Tourist Security Force comprising of 24 ex-Servicemen, of which two are tourist supervisors and remaining tourist wardens.
They have undergone training and have also attended study tours. Since the last few days they are carrying out regular patrolling at the beaches of North & South Goa. While discharging their duties they are displaying on their person identity cards issued to them for their identification by Director of Tourism. They will be provided with uniform soon.
Basically they will implement Beach Shack Policy, terms and conditions of NOC/permissions issued for setting of temporary shacks on beaches etc. Besides, they will ensure that no tourists are harassed by hawkers, masseurs, vendors, lamanis etc.
In case if they come across any violations, illegal activities they will bring the same to the notice of the Director of Tourism, for initiating action against concerned in terms of provisions contained in Goa Tourist Trade Act 1982 and Rules made thereunder.
The main objective is to ensure that tourists move freely and safely on the beaches without any sort of disturbances and no one encroach upon the beachfront by putting unauthorized deck beds, umbrellas etc.
Consequent upon the regular patrolling by Tourist Security Force, recently some people have submitted their bio-datas, while some have applied for permissions for carrying out the activity of hawkers, masseurs, vendors, etc. at the beaches of North and South Goa. They are hereby informed that, there is no such provision under Goa Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1982 and Rules made thereunder to consider either their bio-datas or applications. They will be treated as unauthorized / illegal & action will be taken as per the rules.
