Tousif should change SIM, not answer phone: CM

Censures media for fishing in troubled waters, raking up non-issues

PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar wanted the tiatrist who was threatened, not answer his phone and change his mobile number as a way of dealing with the threats. Refusing to comment on the issue, he instead sought to trivialize it saying it was a creation of the media and a non issue.
“Tousif .. or whatever. He should keep his phone off  and change his SIM card,” he said. Replying to a calling attention motion, he censured the media for fishing in troubled waters, and accused the fifth pillar of democracy of inciting and raking up issues where there were none.
However, the chief minister also rued that people were becoming intolerant nowadays saying that people had reacted to tiatrs the same way they had reacted to the natak ‘Naturam Ghodse.’
“There is no issue at all… Muthalik is in Karnataka. This is run by the Congress party,” he said. “They should take action against him. There is no Ram Sene in Goa.” The chief minister wanted the Congress government in Karnataka to take care of Sri Rame Sene chief Pramod Muthalik, given that he was a resident of  that state.
“Ram Sene will not be allowed to function here. If Muthalik comes here and does something, we will take action, the chief minister said.
Later on in the evening session Parrikar also warned that one should not create such issues in the state.
“Those issues should not be created. Muthalik is not coming and my government will make sure, he doesn’t. But there are certain sections (of media) inviting him here to create sensational news. This is dangerous. We are creating ghosts that will destroy us,” he warned.
