PERNEM: The construction work of flyover linking Sukekulan-Dhargal to Manohar International Airport at Mopa is underway on a war footing. The authorities concerned have not deployed traffic police at AYUSH hospital at Sukekulan to monitor the traffic, where the pillars for the flyover are being erected. This has led to frequent traffic congestion in the area.
In fact the labourers on site are trying to regulate the traffic, but without much success. Motorists have expressed annoyance over the lack of traffic management which could cause some passengers to miss their flights.
Those going towards the airport have to travel from Sukekulan-Dhargal via Nagzar-Tulaskar Wadi which is an extremely narrow route. Some motorists also park their vehicles by the side of the road and the ongoing work of the link road is only adding further to the problem which requires immediate attention.
