MARGAO: Following complaints filed by locals of Margao, Aquem and Davorlim, the Margao Traffic Police Inspector (PI) Gautam Salunke and his team took action against trucks that were parked on either side of the ring road near Aquem power house junction that leads to the Margao Railway Station.
While the towing vehicle was pressed into service and fines were issued to the owners of the trucks, in some cases, the owners of the trucks asked for time to shift their vehicles.
One of the complainants, social worker Andrew Sequeira thanked the police for initiating action and prayed that the cops keep a close watch on
the area.
Sequeira and other residents had earlier stated that these trucks cause traffic congestion in the area where many accidents have taken place. They had also pointed out that there was no information about these drivers or trucks and that the illegal parking area was being used as a public toilet.
