Traffic marshal assaulted at Mopa Airport

PERNEM: Pernem Police has booked one Varkhand local for allegedly abusing, assaulting and snatching gold chain of a traffic marshal, at Mopa Airport site.

According to information provided by Pernem Police Station Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, Keshav Shetye, resident of Varkhand filed a complaint against one Swapnil Parab, resident of Varkhand, stating that the alleged accused person came at Mopa Airport site in a tinted car and parked it in the middle of the road blocking the traffic. 

The complainant then requested Parab to move his car. However, instead of doing so, Parab allegedly abused, assaulted and threatened the traffic marshal with dire consequences. Parab allegedly also snatched away gold chain worn by the complainant.

Police informed that Parab is an active criminal and has many serious crimes registered against him at Pernem Police Station, Porvorim Police Station, Ponda Police Station and Mapusa Police Station.

The police have attached the tinted Maruti Swift car which was kept hidden in the Varkhand area.

An offence under Section 504, 356, 379, 506(ii) of Indian Penal Code has been registered. All efforts are in progress to trace the accused person. Further investigation is in progress.
