MARGAO: Commuters have been complaining about the heavy traffic jam due to the recently installed traffic signal at Nuvem junction since the last few days, as it seems the traffic signal has added more to the traffic congestion rather than solving it.
Speaking to Herald, many commuters informed about the traffic mess at Nuvem junction due to traffic signals at the junction with nearly eight rounds meeting each other.
The new traffic stop signs are creating massive traffic jams and long queues on all sides, causing further traffic jam at other junctions too. Vehicles are noticed stuck for more than 15 minutes in the queue till the green light makes their way clear, said one of the commuters who got stuck at the junction on Friday morning.
Another bike rider said that roads are open but cannot move due to the stop light. Traffic would move smoothly earlier.
Long queues can be witnessed at the junction on all the sides, more especially traffic moving from Arlem bypass road, Margao-Panjim, Panjim-Margao route. Many are of the opinion that the timing of the signals needs to be re-arranged in order to avoid the long queue.
